Choosing paint in November? Let Ireland’s changing light guide your colour choice.
As days shorten and skies soften, November’s light shifts. Morning glow rarely matches dusk, especially in Ireland. One moment, it’s crisp and silvery; the next, warm and golden. By Christmas, with fairy lights twinkling, your walls may look completely different.
That’s why, when you choose paint, always test your sample. At Cove & Co., we say: don’t just pick a colour, let the light help you decide.
Our colour team suggests using a brush-out sheet to judge your shade. Paint a square on the sheet and move it around your room throughout the day - morning, afternoon, evening, and under your lights at night.
Hold the sheet up to the wall you plan to paint. Step back and watch it change. Some colours deepen as daylight fades; others cool under LED light. These subtle shifts make your home feel alive, and the right tone looks beautiful any time of day.
With Christmas and the Late Late Toy Show coming, it's Ireland’s biggest date! It’s the perfect time to refresh your space. Paint a room or warm up a feature wall. Choosing the right colour now means your home will glow beautifully under fairy lights and candlelight.
